Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information MaxForm collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. MaxForm handles face scan and other appearance-related data, so we want to be direct about how that data is treated.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information from your use of the app, and device data:

• Account information: the identifiers Apple provides when you use Sign in with Apple
• Face scans and photos: images and derived biometric measurements (such as facial landmarks or ratios) used to calculate your Appearance score
• Presence and routine data: self-reported check-ins, habits, and routine completion
• Usage data: app interactions, device type, and crash diagnostics, collected via Vercel Analytics on our website
• Subscription status: whether you have MaxForm Plus, managed through the App Store

2. Biometric data

Face scan images and any biometric measurements derived from them are used only to calculate and improve your Appearance score and to power features you explicitly use, such as progress comparisons over time. We do not sell biometric data, and we do not use it to identify you across other services or for advertising. You can delete your face scans at any time from within the app; deletion removes the underlying images and associated measurements from our active systems.

3. How we use your information

• To calculate your Form Score and show your progress over time
• To operate features like streaks, routines, rankings, and the AI mentor
• To maintain, secure, and improve the Service
• To communicate with you about your account or the beta

4. What we don't do

We don't sell your personal data or biometric data to third parties, and we don't use your face scans for advertising or facial recognition of you elsewhere on the web.

5. Sensitive content and your wellbeing

We know appearance and presence tracking touches sensitive territory. We don't use your face scans, scores, or check-ins to infer or label your mental health, and we don't use this data for advertising. Our Terms of Service include a fuller disclaimer about your wellbeing, including crisis-line resources — see Section 4 of the Terms.

6. Sharing

We share data with service providers who help us run MaxForm (such as cloud hosting and analytics), under agreements that limit their use of your data to providing those services. We may also disclose information if required by law.

7. Rankings and visibility

Your Form Score, streaks, and profile are private by default. If you opt into rankings or add friends, the information you choose to share becomes visible to the people you've connected with, per your in-app settings.

8. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data and face scans within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain limited records for legal or security purposes.

9. Your rights

You can access, export, or delete your data at any time from within the app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

10. Children's privacy

MaxForm is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
